Redwoods Code of Conduct

Harassment in any form will not be tolerated.

Redwoods is dedicated to providing inclusive, harassment-free, educational experiences for everyone — regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, political affiliation, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion or lack thereof.

Non–design-system conversations

Redwoods is a space dedicated to our shared craft, and our primary focus is design systems. Friendly banter is encouraged — we want to know each other beyond the work we love. But in a community this diverse, we can’t expect to agree on everything. So we approach each other with deep empathy and curiosity for other perspectives.

Topics that aren’t design-system related belong in a clearly labeled thread in the #off-topic channel, so people can opt in as they have the interest and emotional capacity. All discussion in Redwoods is held to a high standard. The words we use matter. Please stay in learning mode and revisit our values before reacting or sharing on more sensitive topics.

Compliance

We expect members and facilitators to fully comply with these ideals in every interaction. If you are harassed, or witness harassment, please contact Ben immediately in Slack. We reserve the right to determine the appropriate response, up to and including removing someone from the community without a refund.

Don’t be nasty or mean — be considerate and respectful.
